Happy Summer!

It's the first day of summer vacation and I can't believe how fast this school year flew by! Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me. I am proud of each and every one of them. They are readers, writers, mathematicians and I have no doubt that they are ready for second grade in the fall. Here are some snapshots of all the fun and learning that happened in 1-Thomson this year.
This summer I encourage you to take advantage of Flint Public Library's Summer Reading Program. Also, our blog and Symbaloo page will be up and running throughout the summer for access to online practice with words and numbers. Thank you again for an amazing year with your amazing child! Your support was appreciated and I hope you come to visit in the future. Enjoy every moment of your summer and best of luck in second grade!

Tide Pool Jokes

The scientists of 1-Thomson have been researching and recording information about tide pool creatures. We are very excited about our upcoming field trip to Odiorne State Park in Rye, NH to observe these creatures up close! We are also looking forward to seeing our families at the Tide Pool Boogie this Tuesday, June 7th! Along with tide pool songs and poems, first graders will be reciting "tide pool jokes" that they wrote as a class. Students wrote individual jokes as well using Chatterpix to make their beautiful scientific artwork come to life. Take a listen!
Looking forward to seeing you soon!
